DUBLIN IN FOUR PARTS
I went to Dublin for a small comic show last weekend. I went on a whim with my friend Andy and I have to say that the show was very small with a big guest (Jim Lee) and some of the people on the door were jobsworths. It was fun to catch up with Jamie McKelvie, Kieron Gillen, Mark Millar, Jock and Declan Shalvey, whose Frankenstein looks very good indeed. He’s already a name to watch. The weather was pretty foul but we did spend Sunday and Monday morning wandering around the city to places like Dublin Castle, Merrion Square, St Stephens Green, Temple Bar, Christ Church, Docklands and Trinity College. Christ Church has a great crypt, St Stephen’s Green is lovely and Temple Bar is hideously touristy although we found a great photography shop there. It was a great chance to really use the new camera (took about 250 photos) and to exorcise a previous trip with someone I no longer speak to. The weather was raining pretty much the whole time but we didn’t let it dampen our ardour too much. Dublin is a very cool city but I don’t think I’ll be heading back for another comic show any time soon. I may go to visit the city itself again though. Here is my first set of various photos taken during the trip…
